As with every changeover, staff and volunteers were busy with the big job of packing up unsold winter merchandise and transporting it to Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley for distribution, as well as restocking The Closet’s shelves and racks with new-to-you spring merchandise. But this past week The Closet has been even busier. Advance Restorations put in a new floor in the middle room, where the dressing rooms are located! Reston Painters will be painting the walls on Monday and Tuesday, so please pay attention to any “Wet Paint” signs when you shop. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this happen – especially Frank Duerst, Jeff Mauro, Bill DuBois, Gene Wiley, Sam Harahan, and the Herndon High School students who helped move everything out of this room. Thank you to staff and volunteers who worked diligently through the noise, odd odors, and even walked through the parking lot to get spring merchandise into the store. And last, but not least, a huge shout out to Able Moving and Storage, who loaned us, gratis, a large moving van to use as temporary storage — saving The Closet nearly $1,000.
The Closet is blessed to have such great community support!
