If you have donated to The Closet in the past few months, you have certainly seen the new intake structure at the back of The Closet’s building. This structure improves the efficiency of accepting and sorting donations and provides a covered area for the staff and volunteers who are working with donations. This donation center was accomplished through Home Aid Northern Virginia (HANV) and their project “builder captain” Richmond American Homes. In conjunction with construction trade partners that donated labor, time, materials, and expertise to the project, HANV, and Richmond America were able to save The Closet just over 55% of the cost of construction.
