(Sorry – Sold First Day) This is an antique cast metal and wood book stand of Victorian style. The stand appears very appropriate to hold an antique Bible or dictionary, though it could also be used to hold large sheet music. It includes multiple mechanical adjustments and springs to hold a book in various open and closed positions, and its height is adjustable approximately 3-4 feet. The back is marked “Pat. Dec 10, 95” indicating that it was patented in 1895. The metal appears to be brass or a brass-like finish. The stand is in particularly good condition considering its age, and the mechanisms seem to work properly. Only minor issue is that the coaster on one of the four legs has been repaired and therefore does not roll perfectly.
